John (Jack) D. Ray - attorney at law

Mr. Ray has been with Fabian & Clendenin since 1988. Mr. Ray has represented numerous patients in medical malpractice claims and product liability claims. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the Utah Association for Justice. Mr. Ray has taught many attorneys at seminars dealing exclusively with complex issues surrounding medical malpractice claims. Mr. Ray has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution in addition to jury trials and bench trials. Mr. Ray also serves on the Utah State Bar Committee developing jury instructions for medical malpractice cases in Utah and on the State Bar's Ethics Advisory Opinion Committee. Mr. Ray has received the highest possible Martindale-Hubbell rating by his peers in the State of Utah (AV). He has also repeatedly been selected by his peers as one of Utah's "Legal Elite" in Utah Business Magazine.

Christian D. Austin

Mr. Austin is a shareholder at Fabian & Clendenin with a broad background in complex litigation, and focuses his practice on representing severely injured clients in claims arising from medical malpractice and defective products liability. Mr. Austin has been selected by his attorney peers and Utah Business magazine as one of “Utah’s Legal Elite” practitioners. While he is a skilled and aggressive litigator, Mr. Austin is also experienced in various forms of alternative dispute resolution including mediation and arbitration, and his work on the subject has been published in The Utah Labor Letter. Mr. Austin received his J.D. degree, summa cum laude (top 2%) from Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark law school where he served as senior editor for the BYU Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. Mr. Austin is a member of the Utah State Bar and is admitted to practice before Utah state and federal courts.

Nurse Consultants

Linda E. Swenson, RN

Linda Swenson works with Fabian and Clendenin as an Independent Legal Nurse Consultant. She is a Registered Nurse who earned her Bachelors Degree from Brigham Young University. Linda has had an extensive range of experience in the nursing field over the past 15 years. Her specialty has been Emergency Room Nursing, including 5 years as a Life Flight RN specialist. She has also worked in the critical care and psychiatric field, and maintains a membership on the Child Protection Team of a local hospital.
