Why Norm Younker Became a Lawyer
Norm grew up in a small town in Utah and wasn't sure what a lawyer was or actually did. In high school, some of Norm's teachers noticed that he was good at debating, and that piqued his interest in a career that requires a lot of it.
In law school, Norm took a class on medical malpractice that was taught by a doctor who was also a lawyer, and Norm fell in love with the subject matter. Once he graduated from law school, he clerked for a firm that specialized in defending hospitals and doctors in medical malpractice claims. After seven years, Norm realized patients often have legitimate claims and he changed his career so he could represent them instead.
Outside the Office
Norm married Kathy Wheeler in 1984. The couple has three children: Tess, Ben, and Misha. When he has some free time, Norm enjoys skiing, sailing, hiking, traveling, and motorbiking.
"I can't say enough good things about this firm... They have continually encourage us, believed in us and made us actually feel cared for and protected. They kept us informed on every little thing they did and every decision that was made. This law firm was not about the money they were going to make off of us, but the concern they had for the death of our mother. Younker Hyde Macfarlane, they got justice for my mom." Shelly Christenson
